About the Artist/Photographer
J.D. Nigrelli began photographing in Jr. HS, when he was given a Kodak Brownie camera and asked to take pictures for the school yearbook. He continued this pursuit in HS, taking almost all candid and group photographs for his HS yearbook.
His skill behind the camera quickly came in demand locally as a wedding photographer. He built a business around wedding and HS senior photography in a wide area of West Texas as Nigrelli Photography.
For two years, he served as the Laboratory Manager for the former Fox Photo at its headquarters in San Antonio, but was never as happy in the lab as he was behind the camera.
After retirement from the Georgia Public Schools, where he taught chemistry for over 19 years, J.D. decided to renew his passion as a nature photographer. Since retirement he has worked on his Professional Photographer Certification and is a member of the PPA since 1980.
What you see in these galleries are actual photographs that have been artistically manipulated to give an appearance of hand-painted artwork.
